Joining Hands with Global Youth to Discuss the Future of Climate
The Global Oasis Climate Fund was invited to attend the United Nations Youth Forum held at the UN Headquarters in New York. This grand event brought together youth representatives from around the world, international organizations, and civil society stakeholders to collectively explore the central role of youth in addressing climate change and advancing sustainable development.
Youth Voices, Global Consensus
As a new-generation international climate and green development fund, GOCF emphasized at the forum that youth are a critical force in advancing global climate governance. Qi Chong, Director of GOCF, stated in his address:
“Addressing climate challenges requires not only policy and financial support but also the wisdom, creativity, and action of the younger generation. GOCF will work with global youth to build a greener, more equitable, and sustainable future.”
During the forum, GOCF actively engaged with youth representatives from Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas, sharing practical experiences in green finance, sustainable investment, and rural green development. The foundation announced plans to further expand support for youth-led green projects, with a special focus on innovative solutions in rural and developing regions.
International Cooperation, Uniting Action
At the event, GOCF highlighted its international cooperation strategy:
• Supporting Youth Entrepreneurship and Green Innovation: Providing funding, technological resources, and training support to youth teams through fund investments and resource platforms.
• Establishing Cross-Regional Exchange Mechanisms: Promoting cooperation and knowledge-sharing among youth from different countries and regions in areas such as environmental protection, education, and finance.
• Advocating for Global Responsibility and Equity: Calling on developed and developing nations to share responsibilities and ensure the inclusivity and fairness of climate actions.
Looking Ahead
GOCF firmly believes that youth are not only future leaders but also key drivers of climate action today. Through this forum, GOCF, alongside global youth, sent a powerful message of unity, cooperation, and action to the world.
