In the era of global economic transformation and sustainable development, finance is not only a driver of economic growth but also a critical force for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) change. The GSDC aims to bring together the most innovative undergraduates worldwide to explore opportunities in green finance, sustainable investment, and impact economics.
Cultivate the Next Generation of Sustainability Leaders:
Empower young scholars, future investors, and entrepreneurs with expertise in green finance, impact investment, and ESG.
Enhance global youth’s understanding and application of sustainable finance through business analysis, case studies, and innovative practices.
Advance Global Sustainable Finance:
Foster cross-disciplinary and cross-regional collaboration, encouraging participants to propose innovative solutions for climate finance, carbon markets, sustainable infrastructure investment, and ESG ratings.
Align judging criteria with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), and IFC Sustainable Investment Guidelines.
Bridge Academia and Industry:
Connect global youth with financial institutions, businesses, and policymakers, enabling outstanding projects to be adopted and implemented.
Promote Global Collaboration and Shared Prosperity:
Advocate for inclusive growth, responsible investment, and environmental sustainability, encouraging youth to address social and environmental challenges through financial tools.
Undergraduate and associate degree students (or equivalent) in business administration, management, accounting, finance, computer science, design, media, or related fields.
Young researchers from academic institutions.
Team Formation: 2–6 members per team,Open to all majors and grades, with up to 1 advisor.
Timeline:
Preparation: March 1 – April 5, 2025.
Submission: April 5 – April 12, 2025.
Results Announcement: April 15, 2025.
Tasks:
Online Content Creation: Act as a GOCF development team, create and promote online content (40% of score based on quality, influence, and visual design).
Project Proposal: Develop a feasible, environmentally friendly, and sustainable project (submitted as a paper, PPT, or poster; 60% of score based on innovation, practicality, and environmental impact).
Format: On-site presentation of projects.
Preliminary Date: May 15, 2025.
Results Announcement: Scores will be evaluated by judges, and regional winners will be announced by John Bercow, former Speaker of the UK House of Commons.
